Blood Type Test

Our blood type testing service provides you with a convenient and affordable way to help you understand your blood type without having to go to a traditional doctor’s office. Our medical team can order the lab test for you to complete at a Quest Diagnostics location and help you interpret the result.

Your blood type is inherited and based on the blood types of your mother and father.  It is important to know your blood type for blood donations, during pregnancy, so healthcare providers can determine which blood types are safe for you to receive in case of emergency, and to understand some health risks associated with blood type.

The blood test will determine your blood group (A, B, AB, or O) determined by the presence or absence of two antigens, A and B.  The test also determines the presence (positive) or absence (negative) of the protein called the Rh factor. 

Fasting is not required prior to the blood draw at Quest Diagnostics.

1. Create a Lemonaid Health Account. 
2. Select our blood type testing service.
3. Save your payment information to pay the visit and lab fees. Many HSA/FSA cards can be used at checkout.
4. Wait for a confirmation message from our medical team before you proceed to our lab partner, Quest Diagnostics.
5. Complete a blood test through Quest Diagnostics.

When we get your test results we’ll send you a confidential message through your Lemonaid Health account to help you interpret the information. You can also download a PDF document of your test results from the MyQuest website.

On the Quest Diagnostics website find your nearest location that offers online appointments. You don’t need to make an appointment, but if a location offers online appointments then we know they’re connected to our online lab ordering system.

Wait for the confirmation message from our medical team before you go to Quest Diagnostics to complete the test. 

You don’t need to stop eating (fast) before the blood type test.

You should have your test result within a week of completing the test at Quest Diagnostics. 

When we get your test results we’ll send a confidential message through your Lemonaid Health account to help you interpret the information. You can also download a PDF document of your test results from the MyQuest website.
