Stop Smoking

Our service provides you with a convenient and affordable way to stop smoking, and empowers you to do so safely and effectively. You can get the care and advice you need online without having to go to a traditional doctor’s office. 

Our medical team will provide you with tools and support to help you quit smoking, and can prescribe either bupropion SR (generic Zyban®) or varenicline (generic Chantix®). These prescription-only medications are more effective than over the counter alternatives and double the chance that you stop smoking when compared to not taking any medication at all. 

Quitting smoking can improve your health and lower your risk of certain medical conditions and complications.  Although it is not easy to stop smoking and may take several attempts before you stop smoking completely, the benefits of stopping can be seen at any age.

You can use the service if you are between the ages of 18 and 74 years old and would like assistance to stop smoking.

Our medical team is not able to treat all patients and based on your history we may recommend that you see a healthcare provider in person instead of using our service.

Our doctors and nurse practitioners can determine if treatment is right for you based on your history and current smoking habits. Our medical team follows strict guidelines to make sure we only treat you when it's safe and appropriate to do so. It’s important that you answer our questions fully and truthfully, and read any information we provide.

If, for any reason, our doctor or nurse practitioner thinks it’s not safe to treat you, we’ll ask you to see a healthcare provider in person.

1. Create a Lemonaid Health Account. 
2. Complete our simple health questionnaire.
3. Save your payment information - we won’t charge your card until after your consultation. Many HSA/FSA cards can be used at checkout. 
4. Complete a short consultation with a Lemonaid Health doctor or nurse practitioner. A phone consultation may be required depending on your state.

Our medical team will then determine if treatment with medication is safe and appropriate for you.  

If we prescribe bupropion SR, we can ship your medication directly to you from our own Lemonaid Pharmacy. Shipping is discreet, fast and free. Alternatively, our medical team can send the prescription electronically to your local pharmacy.

If we prescribe varenicline, the prescription will be sent electronically to your local pharmacy.  This can be a more expensive option, but the cost of the medication will depend on your pharmacy price and insurance coverage.

There are risks and benefits to taking any medication. It’s important to answer our health questionnaire fully and truthfully so that our medical team can help you make an informed decision about whether the benefits of a medication outweigh the potential risks.
