  • What should I know about a UTI and how can Lemonaid Health treat it?

Most UTIs are caused by bacteria infecting the bladder, but the infection can move into the kidneys and become more serious if treatment is delayed. UTIs are more common in females and the symptoms can sometimes be confused with symptoms caused by other vaginal infections. The symptoms of a bladder infection include pain or burning during urination, increased frequency or urgency of urination, or blood in the urine. Kidney infections can also include fever, nausea or vomiting, and back pain.

Urinary tract infections can often be treated with antibiotics taken for a full course of 3 to 7 days.

  • Can I use the Lemonaid Health UTI service?

You can use the service if you have an assigned birth sex of female, are between the ages of 18 and 50 years old, and have a simple urinary tract infection.

Our medical team is not able to treat all patients.  If you are under 18, a female who is post-menopausal, or if your assigned birth sex is male we recommend that you see a healthcare provider in person instead of using our service.

  • Can Lemonaid Health treat a UTI remotely?

Our doctors and nurse practitioners can treat a UTI based on your history and self-reported symptoms. Our medical team follows strict guidelines to make sure we only treat you when it's safe and appropriate to do so. It’s important that you answer our questions fully and truthfully, and read any information we provide.

If, for any reason, our doctor or nurse practitioner thinks it’s not safe to treat you, we’ll ask you to see a healthcare provider in person.

  • How do I complete a UTI service visit?

    1. Create a Lemonaid Health Account.
    2. Complete our simple health questionnaire.
    3. Save your payment information - we won’t charge your card until after your consultation. Many HSA/FSA cards can be used at checkout.
    4. Complete a consultation with a Lemonaid Health doctor or nurse practitioner. A phone consultation may be required depending on your state.

Our medical team will then determine if treatment with medication is safe and appropriate for you.

If we prescribe treatment, our medical team will send the prescription electronically to your local pharmacy.

  • Are the UTI treatments provided by Lemonaid Health safe and effective?
